Nice, is it GTO/dev or the marketing side of it? Ah, off to Redmond then? If I'd told my supervisor that it was my birthday earlier on, he'd have given me the afternoon off! Instead, I didn't say anything (new workplace, colleagues etc) and am going to sit here till 1830. Worse still, most of the patients are coming after 1630 so I've got a few more hours of moping to do.

Little more digging - I'd be expected to chip in and share a family room with two other guys I don't know very well, or shell out for a room for friday/saturday night. I'm not terribly interested in the type of car this event is all about either. I've also got a wedding in London to go to in October. All in all, it's going to end up costing me to stay for the weekend, and the gig's a favour to an acquaintance. I think I'll pass.
