Was it the lead singer of The Damned who actually did drive around the place in hearse all the time? Mind you, he is a bit weird.

We used to go annually to a raft race at Bosworth water. Waking up on the Sunday morning, we were somewhat alarmed to see a hearse pulling up, only for a windsurfer to remove his board from the back and set off across the lake.

All this brings to mind that little known Hanna-Barbera cartoon - Bratty’s Spook Coupe which featured a beatnick who drove a hearse which had a few ghosts as passengers. The hearse did, of course, speak, and was scared of ghosts, monsters and other associated creatures. The whole ensemble travelled around the USA solving mysteries of a supernatural nature and having adventures. The whole thing was broken up by adverts featuring highly sugared and coloured breakfast cereals. Clearly a half hour of excellent television (which was denied to us), followed by the Top Cat and Flintstones Hour. A search on YouTube may yield footage from this little known gem.

OK, having put my reality hat on I've been lookinmg at cars that I'll actually be able to afford.
I've had 2 Toyota Yaris cars in a row now and my current one I've had for 4.5 years and it's now 10 years old. I've really liked both Yarises that I've had. It's going really well excpet for a few things that are getting close to breaking point. (I'm looking at spending over £200 on a new key in the next couple weeks, the actual remote part of the key has broken now). I spent around £1200 on it last year on tyres, brakes, servincing, MOT, etc...
Anyway, I've been looking around and Toyota have an offer on at the moment for 0% APR on a brand new Toyota Yaris (I think SR) which is well under my budget and has a load of updated stuff (like Bluetooth, cruise control, etc...).
I know it's a bit boring going for the same car again but it'll be an upgrade in terms of the quality of the car and will reduce my insurance premium, road tax and increase fuel economy.
I'm now questioning whether I should get a new key at the weekend or a new car? LOL!
As well as all the benefits I'm going to be commmuting to Middlesbrough a few times a week and have been thinking of getting anew car anyway.
Hmm...
Not quite the same as the GT86 (which TBH was way out of my budget) but I'm really liking the idea now.

Where are you commuting from? The reason I ask is that unless you drive Miss Daisy, the Yaris can properly drink fuel on long journeys.

Leeds to Middlesbrough. Straight up the A1 and then A19. It's relative though as I currently have a Yaris T-Sport which is a ten year old 1.5l petrol engine (and you'r right, it can absolutely guzzle petrol). I imagine compared to a brand new 1.33l Petrol engine mine will have a lot worse efficiency. Also, I'm only commuting a couple times a week so it's not every day or anything.

Ah okay - it shouldn't be too horrific then I drive the 1.3 and at anything over 65 you might as well fuel it with shredded cash

Ah, which version do you have and how old is it? What do you think of it? I really like my Yaris and it can be a bit nippy if I decide to put my foot down.

Saw a facelift (or new) Yaris in the paper the other day. Looked like it had the same colour scheme and headlight shape (ish) as the new GT86.
