funny you mention the R-Pi. I bought one off egay last week. This week, I get an email from Farnell telling me they've dispatched my order!

So now I have two. My boss wants to buy one off me and will pay the inflated egay price.

Which power supply and case did you go for?

I've now got two R-Pis and neither had been powered up yet.

I have no cases - I will probably be using the GPIO pins with some of the bits and pieces I have been using with my Arduino :ugeek:

For a power supply, the spec is 5V 700mA DC (more current capacity if you are powering many USB hub connections).

I am in the process of formatting the SD card and I have a Samsung mobile phone charger (micro USB and 700mA) that will be used for this duty.

I took out new car insurance which included free roadside breakdown cover. None of the documents mentioned it, so I called and checked.

It seems, because I had been an AA breakdown member and had cancelled (too expensive) just at the time I bought the insurance, ironically from the same organisation, the system got a bit confusticated and thought I didn't need the breakdown cover after all.

No problem. The operator could set that up for me at no charge. Would I like to know how much it would cost to upgrade to the same level of breakdown cover I had before I cancelled it? (This was something I was going to investigate anyway, as a new AA member gets certain offers and discounts.)

The price was very good, so I paid up. I now have fully comprehensive insurance, roadside breakdown, home start and relay for the less than just the breakdown cover renewal price was. :D

I also didn't need to chase a client this morning as he effectively chased himself without prompting! Oh, and I booked l'Atomo di Forza in for his service and MOT. So far, I think I'm winning.

It's nice when you get a good insurance deal. A couple of weeks ago I did some hunting for the in-laws and save them over £200 on their car insurance renewal (like fo like policy).

Mine's due in September. Last year me renewal from Hastings was cheaper than anything else I could find online. It's nice when that happens. Most companies push it up hoping you won't notice and let it renew automatically.

I don't think it was a "jumper" so unfortunatly it becomes a crime scene and Mr Plod gets a bit upset when you drive trains through his crime scene
