New Movie Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Figures Surface - no pics yet, but full descriptions of at least one set of them and slight spoiler pics of the film including a potential vehicle http://idlehands1.blogspot.co.uk/2014/0 ... s.html?m=1I'd hope that's one of the crap lines they've always released with TMNT figures (Roller-blading Raph! Movie Mike!) but the details make it sound like something that idiot Bay would try to pull off, and the non-Turtles figures sound pretty standard...

Did you know there's a new Avengers comic starting up? Avengers World. So that's, what, 15 Avengers titles per month?

Saw that in a Comixology email, I think it must be worked out financially along Hollywood lines; X = a certain market segment with guaranteed profits that make it worthwhile. There can't be anyone in the world who actually knows why certain characters are behaving in a particular manner any more, especially when it comes to their boring-ass crossovers. Even if you were downloading the comics illegally you'd struggle to keep up with Marvel. They can't keep milking it for much longer, readers will get over their fear of missing something and it's not like they're drawing in new fans with their 'What do you mean you missed the last five pointless big battles?'. Apparently the sales don't even pick up when a blockbuster film is released. I'm actually hopeful that Disney takes more of an interest in the comics division - even if they fcuk it up, rebuilding it would almost certainly result in something less ridiculous.

I suspect that anyone interested in the comics will already be buying when the films come out.

Just read a rather messed-up DC comic from 1985 called Vigilante. Alan Moore was the writer which is why I was reading it, but Christ it was grim stuff... This guy was DC's masked version of the Punisher and ironically probably influenced the Punisher of today! It's not hard to see how DC came to some of the nastier Batman scenes for instance when you read what else they were putting out in the eighties

Just read Black Widow No.1, yet another Avengers-associated comic. Art's not bad but that's about it.

Saw that but I've got too many on the go already, Men Of War for one (DC title, focused around a relative of Sgt Rock but modern day).

Is it any wonder Aquaman's never gotten any real fans?

I really wish some comics could come out of the dark ages - a recent Batman issue has a female Irish crime boss with red hair who dresses in green and says things like 'Mind your tongue, me lad!' If it's not things like that, it's dodgy representations of women, in every sense, or they attempt to crowbar in a 'shocking' gay scene for instance with all the subtlety of an angry gorilla
