Comic-Con Only Selling Single Day Passes for 2014 Show

If you plan on attending all four days (and preview night) of the massive pop culture event this year, it'll involve buying five separate passes.
Fans who planned on attending every day of this summer's San Diego Comic-Con may find doing so slightly more difficult than usual, with Comic-Con International announcing that it will no longer be selling passes to the entire event in 2014.

Scrotes. It's always sold out so this way they're likelier to get more individual consumers.

That'll piss my brother-in-law off. He went to all four days last year.
I was planning on going this year too, assuming I wasn't at work.

I misread that. I thought it was on about the UK one for some reason.

It is something that I would like to do one day. Though it must be hard to plan if they only go on sale a few weeks before and you have no guarantee of getting tickets before you book your flights.

Well the Lobo redesign was a bright idea:

So in comic book terms he's now a 'pretty boy'? Marvellous.

The weaponry shown in other images suggests 'assassin' more than bounty hunter too.

The best thing DC is doing at the moment is Injustice cos it totally ignores their other fannying about with '52'. When I first heard about 52 I was hopeful that they could get away from the Grant Morrison-style bollocks, but no, they did a in no way confusing partial reboot and then brought Morrison back. One of these days Bruce Wayne's gonna walk out of the shower and realise it was all a dream...

Thought this was quite interesting:

January 2014 Comic Book Sales Figures

Estimated Comics Sold to North American Comics Shops
as Reported by Diamond Comic Distributors
(Items marked with asterisks had their reported orders slightly reduced due to returnability.)

That's just the Top 50. For the top 300, see here.

Note that the reason there are two entries for Spiderman is that Marvel are turning out some comics more frequently than their usual monthly schedule.

I wonder how those figures compare to the peaks and troughs of years ago. Some past the top 50 seem remarkably low for first issues with established characters you'd think, though digital sales are probably quite large now.

There's a LOT of sales analysis on that site going back several years if you're interested.

Lol, that's what I get for scrolling down to the 'article' like I do with every other site. I'll definitely have a look later, cos I'm curious about the sales history of things like crossovers and big arcs and how they compare today. Mind you there's so many external factors now like it being more acceptable to have an interest in comics, never mind buying them!

Just skimming at the moment, but it's amazing how a new volume's first issue can add 100k sales to an established title :)
