That's your actual Atlantic.
However, he hadn't explored very much of it when the picture was taken and that bit is only a few feet deep - the brown colour is the sand on the bottom, which combined with the graininess of my phone's camera, is probably what gives the Welsh river effect.

I believe the prisoners in Colditz (WW2) ate their pet cat as the Germans were providing almost no food by the end of the war. Apparently it's a bit like duck, very greasy.
