It appears after much research, manifesto reading, electioneering information and candidate study, I will be voting UKIP at this election. I've been true blue all of my voting life, but tbh the blues and reds are both really irritating me this year and a lot of the UKIP manifesto makes sense to me.

I'm not particularly bothered who the candidate is, I'm voting according to party politics not a candidate popularity contest, but Brett Parsons could be a lot worse. I'm also voting with my conscience, making an effort to step outside of the "who do I hate the least out of Tories/Labour" voting platform.

I hope they have a better proof reader than they had last year. For a company obsessed with the capital of Belgium (that’s Brussels or Bruxelles if you want to go native), you would have thought that they would have learned how to spell it correctly by now.

This was broadcast on national TV as part of their campaign too. This is from their 2009 electoral campaign.

I can't vote for anyone claiming to be liberal. It's just wrong and surely it wouldn't help the UK either :S

What is so wrong with being liberal?

I claim to have been liberal my entire adult life. The Lib-Dems are the mainstream party that best fits my outlook on life.

Free economy is not good for a country when there are so many disparities between price of local produce and imported. I think there should be laws to tax imported products ( carbon tax? ) to reflect the real cost compared to local produce.

In a word, I like order and fixed prices :P
In countries where electricity prices are fixed by the government, nobody requires a heating allowance.

You're not getting confused between Conservative and Liberal-Democrat are you?

In fact, Green seems more up your street.

I was just thinking the same thing.

Although, party politics is merely a distraction from the real issues. I've decided I may actually bother to read about my candidates and go from there. But it won't be about energy, foreign policy or the economy.

I've really tried Alun. I really have. I even had to stop myself posting exactly what you've just said. I want to talk about it, but there's an awful lot of nonsense talked here and everywhere else. I sympathize.

Labour has labour in it, so you have to work to pay benefits for those who won't.
