Extra funny weird bollocks at the bottom.

Now that I'm mighty curious about, though even ignoring their market policy, I suspect it'll be overpriced by at least a quarter as Samsung's laptops and tablets tend to be IME.

Samsung's smallest, sharpest and safest Ultrabook yet
http://www.techradar.com/reviews/pc-mac ... 451/review

Yip, there's probably at least an extra £80 on there but it's a new chip n'all... I like that they're ignoring the stupid touchscreen to keep the price down at least, though I wonder just how much it was affecting sales (gimmicky bollocks has a limited shelf life).

Random thoughts

Now that I think about it, is it really worth having that much pixel power with such a small screen? And will the screen be big enough for my taste?

Samsung have weird keyboards sometimes.

There was an Acer S7 or something I fancied, if they can sort out something similar for the new Broadwell chips... Although I'll keep this Sammy in mind.

Battery life and weight are the big selling points for me.

All in all, I'll be waiting a while to see how the rivals react to each other before ensuring I have a good playaround with whatever reviews well.

I love Windows 8, I certainly wouldn't switch back to Windows 7 out of choice.

I've not been too impressed with Windows 10 Preview so far, it loses too much functionality for touch / tablet users in its current form. I'll be interested to see what the public preview brings at the end of this month.

That's the first time I've ever actually wanted a Dell! The battery certainly sounds amazing, but I suspect it's adding to that weight...

Well, no, the EU have instituted a rather bonkers set of new rules which require almost all online companies to raise their prices and will force some small digital-only companies out of business. But hey, let's blame Apple.

Why is it bonkers? It makes it much easier for us, when we buy stuff, as we don't have to deal with dozens of different VAT rates on our invoices.

Also, it wasn't just the VAT rules, Apple also took the opportunity to realign their exchange rate conversions.

The rules aren't bonkers at all - they're what you and others have been banging on about for years

The new rules state that
Quote:
Article 44
The place of supply of services to a taxable person acting as such shall be the place where that person has established his business. However, if those services are provided to a fixed establishment of the taxable person located in a place other than the place where he has established his business, the place of supply of those services shall be the place where that fixed establishment is located. In the absence of such place of establishment or fixed establishment, the place of supply of services shall be the place where the taxable person who receives such services, has his permanent address or usually resides.
