Conan! What is best in life?
To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their women.

So, the Conan reboot (another pointless effort, AFAIC)

I still think Slaine would make a better movie.

To be fair, in the current economic climate, Conan makes more sense. Conan just hits people with swords, which is relatively cheap cinema. How much extra would the CGI to do a warp spasm cost?

Well, does it have to be good? I've seen films in the last two-three years where things like even a shipping container couldn't be rendered convincingly ;)

Oh I beg to differ - I'd wager most of the films you've seen in the 2-3 years have CGI elements you simply haven't noticed. ;)

Yeah, but I'm talking about the likes of Wolverine and the A-Team that have worse CGI than similar films from 10-15 years ago :(

Really? I can't think of anything that springs to mind in either of those two.
What's in your mind in terms of poor CGI there?

Damn near everything in Wolverine looked terrible IMO, but there was machinery that was so jarring in the background at one point that I took more notice of it than what was staring right at me. The A-Team had the aforementioned shipping containers and more dodgy individual shots on a par with the CGI croc/'gator from Eraser for comedy purposes

X-Men (the original) and Three Kings sprung to mind as films that did it all much better quite a few years ago - in that sense they'd be better going backwards...

Have a look at http://www.fxguide.com/featured/Shut_Up_Fool_This_is_the_A-team/.

How many of those bits did you spot as being CGI? ;)
