I thought newer versions of Android don't really play well with SD cards?

That said, I haven't used an SD card in my phones yet. The 16GB on my S3 is still more than 2/3 empty.

I think I'll have to buy those Kraang and Shredder ones and keep them until I have the space to display them.

While I don't necessarily disagree, the lack of SD slot and interchangeable battery is hardly unusual in a mobile phone these days and not just the iPhone either.

Having worn a Pebble for over a year, that's exactly how smart watches are used. You get a notification buzz, you look at your watch, read the notification, you get on with what you were doing. You want to know the time, you look at your watch, you get on with what you were doing. You want to read a text message you got, you look at your watch, press a couple of buttons to scroll through, you get on with what you were doing.

Nobody is going to be reading ebooks on a smartwatch unless they're an utter idiot. Nor browsing web pages or composing emails by typing on them (somehow). The smartwatch is a notification and 'grab your attention for a few seconds then get on with whatever it was you were doing before' device. 10 seconds at a time frankly seems rather on the long side given my experience.

So, basically, this is a story using the logic that Apple saying people will use smart watches in a way that anyone but a dribbling simpleton would see is obviously the best way to use them is somehow a bad thing. Yay journalism.

Can't help thinking that after the Snowden revelations, public wi-fi might be safer than sending your data through Google.
