Yay. Tomorrow's engineer's meeting in Aberdeen has been cancelled.
No having to get up at 04:00, no having to catch a 06:40 flight, no wasting th emorning in the office waiting for it to start, no wasting an afternoon on a pointless meeting, and no not getting home until 21:30.
Life is good again.

eBay auction ended just after lunch today (for an MSD 8226 coil if you're curious).
The item in question can be had new from Greece for £44 delivered. I was willing to go to £25.
So, I get the reminder on my phone, and for whatever reason, the eBay app wasn't working with the wifi network at work. I suspect they're blocking the traffic.
Run outside with about 2 minutes left to go, to find a 3G signal.
Got my bid in with 14 seconds left... and won it. £16.
And he's local, so I'm picking it up on Saturday. WIN.

I had a ceramic hot water bottle that I wanted to buy today. Bought it for £4.70 and was willing to go to £13.73.

Which one did you go for? I bought my laptop from there over two years ago now.

Voyager 17.3" matte full HD LED (1920x1080)
Intel Core i5 3210M (2.5GHz 3MB)
4GB 1600mhz DDR3
120GB Kingston V300 SSD
4x Bluray ROM]
Windows 8

I'd have preferred Windows 7 (which as a cheaper option), but this is for the missus and son, and for some reason she wanted Windows 8.

I paid a little bit extra for a better warranty and TIM, but is was onlt a few extra quid.
I've have liked a cheaper one, but all the cheap ones have x768 screens, and that just doesn't just the mustard.
This has full HD on a large screen so my son will find it easy to see/use and it has an SSD. I find the 5600rpm HDD on my current laptop a massive bottleneck.
Not too bad for under £700 inc VAT.

You've not had any issues with yours have you?

I had a Vortex II. Spent over £2000 on the spec. A couple of months ago, it wouldn't boot up. Turned out the battery wasn't charging properly when I had it at home but it worked fine when it went to PCS. The computer spent a week away from me but it didn't cost me a penny because of the warranty - paid extra for 3 years.

I have never had a credit as much as that as that, as it is bigger than my annual electricity bill. My current credit balance is only £6.

Tentative win as I don't know if it's going to work long term, but so fed up with paying £30 a month for 0.3 meg broadband, I shelled out £180 for a 3G router with a powerful external aerial and got an unlimited 30 day contract SIM card from 3 for £13 a month. Currently getting 4 meg down and 2 up and happily watching iplayer in hd no problem. If it continues to be reliable, will be sacking off my landline next week.

Firstly are you sure it is unlimited. Secondly did you do it via a cashback site? From what I can see you could have got £34.34 cash back from topcashback.co.uk on their 10Gb mobile broadband deal, which is why I asked about the unlimited deal.

Yup, 3 boast about their no fair usage policy. That's one of the things I'm waiting to see about before I get rid of my landline, but having said that, with the woeful speed I get through adsl, it doesn't matter as I'd rather have decent speed for a bit of the month than none of it.

Just seen your link. Missed out there. How does that work though? How can I get more cash back than what I've paid?!

No you sign up to a cash back site then sign up to the deal through the site, if you want a referall I can do that for you, I think that you get an extra lump of money as would I (£5 or £10) if I were to refer you. Basically it tracks you through to the site and then when you make a purchase you get the cash back some time later usually a couple of months later. You should know within a day or so if the transaction has been logged. I got nearly £110 back from three when I bought the iPhone for £120, in effect getting me a 64Gb iPhone 5 for £10! If your transactions are still pending you could be in time to cancel and try via the cashback route. I have made nearly £300 back this last year from cash backs. If you then opt to get them in Amazon vouchers you get another 5% bonus.

It tracks you with tracking cookies so clear cookies before buying otherwise you might find Google or someone else gets the cash back.
