A mini back garden safari:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tS2Z06exPoo

Some people may want a spider warning.

Some “production notes” (contains a “spoiler”):

1 - The butterfly take off at the end rather pleased me. The microphone on the camera picked up the sound of the wings as it flies off. This is the first camera I have that does this. All my previous video cameras tended to pick up the noise of tape transport and lens focussing. This one, by it’s more manual nature and SD card doesn’t.

2 - While setting up to video a spider in its web, a wasp flies in, grabs it and flies off. I’ve never seen that, and I have been kicking myself that I wasn’t there 5 minutes before. Ho hum. The one that got away, etc..

3 - This started as an exercise in manual focussing using the screen as well as the view finder. I’ve not really done much manual focussing on video cameras for a long time, relying mostly on autofocus. Autofocus can spook insects - they either don’t like the noise the lenses make, or it’s the beams they use.

Very good. Better than a lot of rubbish out there.

Absolutely incredible the NOW just didn't get it did he?

Give Paul McMullen his due, he is consistent.

I've seen him put across his position several times now, and he always comes across the same way. Unfortunately, his "way" is arrogant and shamelessly self-serving - everything that is wrong with the tabloid press.

I don't read the tabloids, but I wouldn't bat an eyelid if they never printed another tittle-tattle story again. The problem is that there is a huge majority of people in this country with exactly that kind of appetite.

I can't stand Coogan, or his brand of comedy, but he is spot on here.

What the NotW have done, from what I've picked up over the last couple of days (it never made the news over here), it is a good job they are gone.

Coogan can be hit or miss. I love his Paul/Pauline Calf characters as with Alan Partridge. The others are not so great.

Apparently the Daily Mail was even worse. Though that will probably come out over time. The Media barons need to be trimmed down. One daily paper and one Sunday, no TV ownership either.
