For those who might be considering ordering a Playstation Vita

Uncharted Golden Abyss -£24.99 at HMV.

Update : HMV have bee cancelling all orders at that price. Including mine. The email explaining that they're doing it says

Quote:
If you would still like to order the item at the retail price of £39.99, you may do so via the hmv website.

Err... No.

Vita pre-order pack at Tesco, maybe see the news thread if you're thinking of getting the 3G version though...

PS Vita 3G pricing details revealed by Vodafone

http://www.techradar.com/news/gaming/ha ... ne-1061738

Putting this here since there was some discussion before... Headline's misleading if you were expecting actual data allowance details though

It's not so misleading I think. It's pretty straightforward. If you buys 3G Vita, there's a Vodafone SIM in the box. Put the SIM in, activate the device and pay £5 for 250MB, which has to be used within 30 days. No contract. Do it once and they'll send you a code to download WipeOut 2048 for free. After that you can spend another fiver and get another 250MB of data, usable for a month.

It's not the best deal ever - I get 1GB on my 3 mifi for a tenner - but it's straightforward and there's no long term commitment. Plus I suspect most people will find 250MB about right for a month given there's a lot of wifi around these days too. They could have done something a whole lot more stupid frankly.

Here's a Voda promo video that explains it...

Vodafone VIta Get Started Video

Otherwise, you're free to stick whatever SIM you like in it to sign up for whatever deal you like, it's completely unlocked. But you don't get WO 2048. TBH, given it's only a fiver, it's worth 'signing up' for the Vodafone offer to get the game for a fiver even if you then use somebody else's SIM after that.

Thanks for posting; I would probably have missed this otherwise.

I didn't want to assume that was what you got every month though. I only scanned it quickly, but I didn't see anything actually setting the pricing structure out, it just seemed more like the deal you got with the console rather than an ongoing thing :|

Dodge the Sandisk blade, they are horrendously slow, the 32gb one is quite slow to write but fast to read from though :)
