A thoroughly nice and extraordinarily generous chap on the Bit forums sent me a heavily smashed up and bent (but still working) iPhone 4 and, upon seeing the thread, a mate sent me his old water-damaged but otherwise pristine iPhone 4. After 20 minutes transplanting the logic board from the smashed phone to the other body, it looks like I have a fully functional iPhone 4. 8-)

Can't test it fully until I get a microSIM, but it's fair to say I'm a happy camper at the moment. :D

A double win as you can also sell the remains on eBay for several hundred pounds to some idiot. ;) Though I wonder how much phones for cash will pay for the remains?

If I've gotten a working phone out of it, I think it would be bad karma to try and fleece some poor bugger on feebay - not that I would do it anyway.

I know someone with a damaged phone, I'll see if any of the remaining bits will help him.

I was joking. Though if the logic board on remain phone fails to work would only be worth it for parts?

Just made up my first cat5e patch cable. I'm moving offices into a serviced building and need my own network, so going to cable my own system. I feel like I'm cheating the system by not getting a specialist out to do it!

Get a quote from a specialist, realise how much you've saved and feel better! ;)

Go to buy beer in the local supermarket, and on my way out, spot 4 Verbatim DVD-R 25pk in the discounted basket.
To 99p.
Each.
So, for £3.96, I've taken home 100 Verbatim DVD-Rs.
They're not my first choice of disc (Taiyo Yuden FTW!) but damn, they're less than 4p each...

Got the all-clear from my Oncologist for breast cancer on Wednesday, currently in the process of telling everyone I ever met 8-)
On Saturday we finalised all wedding arrangements for Halloween and am now unbearable with excited.
Also, unspeakable with excited and can't word properly

It's nice to be living instead of coping!

Good to hear about the cancer. Sorry to hear that you are now unbearable with excitement. Are you taking anything for that?
