why are normal people so boring and lack sense of humour? for a medical test for an exam I had to do a urine sample, I did that but didn't know if I had to hand the urine sample into the receptionist or the actual doctor itself. I decided to go to receptionist, held out the urine sample and said "Are you taking the piss?" :P very confused awkward reaction

Yesterday's journey back to Farnborough, that normally takes 2.5hrs, took just shy of 6hrs. I accept just over one hour's delay was my fault for not checking for engineering works, but it was still one helluva journey (beating my previous door-to-door time by over an hour, and that involved a trip into, across and out-of Lahnden) with far too much time spent in Reading!

Had first play with the Nikon F60 film camera at the weekend. Kept putting it at arms length and looking at the back each time I took a picture.

From the ongoing Xbox Conference:

Quote:
Multi-year exclusive agreement with Xbox and Activision. All COD map packs to launch first on 360.

"If you want to play CoD in the next three years, you'll want to play it on Xbox 360".

well, this is awesome.

apparently my graphics card (9600GT) bases its core clock upon the PCI-E clock, so increasing that also increases the overall speed :D

ive spent the last few hours fine-tuning my overclock, trouble is that all monitoring software still reports the speeds as though the PCI-E frequency has been untouched. however, according to my calculations ive ended up with ROPs/TPUs at aroundabout what they were before (they were already pushing their stable limit), and a welcome 25MHz boosty on the stream processors, since the strapping only allow it to be increased by 50Mhz increments :o

not a huge difference in benchmarks (~1fps in most cases), but a fun exercise in tweaking anyway :)

Also, if you read his speech at Rice, all his arguments for going to the moon work equally well as arguments for blowing up the moon, sending cloned dinosaurs into space, or constructing a towering penis-shaped obelisk on Mars.

That was in the middle of the night in the UK but I was working in Oz and did my best to prevent him from doing so. I got caught up with something and didn't manage it.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.
