If he'd done a couple of new Ferraris and the Roller, it might have been better! It is just a news stunt to try and get people to park properly.
Good idea though, the number of idiots who park illegally and cause problems is ever increasing, it would certainly be more of a deterrent than a parking fine or towing the vehicle away.

Yes a new car would make a much clearer demonstration of anger at badly parked cars. Though what would be the legal position as to liability. If the law was changed so that traffic wardens could call in a mobile crusher them it would make more impact. Though towing it away would clear the road at the same time. It gives you a hint of the movie content and its splaterfest but no annoying announcer. And enough flash cuts to make you think it was a mainstream horror.
