iPhone 7 headphone jack: Why Apple removing it is a good thing | TechRadar
http://www.techradar.com/news/phone-and ... ng-1313546

All totally fair enough, but I'm curious as to the effects on phone battery life and how the charging of BT buds is handled. Nobody wants yet more charging of iDevices. I wouldn't be surprised if Apple starts selling a neat, mini type of 'dock' that charges everything in one go (maybe with auto-syncing to your other iDevices?), or has found another efficient way of charging... maybe the extra phone space will fit a particular type of battery to compensate?

If the rumour about the iPhone 7 supporting wireless charging is true, they could possibly provide, or much more likely sell, a set of bluetooth earopods that charge the same way and a pad big enough such that you just put both down on the pad and they charge up together.

Or even possibly make the iPhone itself able to wirelessly charge a set of BT earplugs, so the iPhone kind of acts as the changing pad for the plugs....

Or of course it could all be rubbish and it'll just have a socket.

I'm thinking even Google probably hasn't tried that one... MS are probably desperate after seeing the Cortana usage figures 10 has been sending back to them, along with everything else.

The Blue Peter model practically killed the budget for that programme - so many kids wrote in for the instruction sheet. It was a bloody good model too.

That kind of reminds me of those old 'click-clack' credit card slip printing machines. You know, from before we had electronics.
