Do we have any forumites collecting results, or who have offspring collecting results, today?

My brother is picking up his today. Unfortunately work require that I keep my phone turned off, so will have to wait until break time to find out.

That's a shame, but hope he gets the results he wants/needs/deserves. Would that be LumbTheLesser? On a slight tangent, I'm kind of left frustrated by the introduction of the A* grade. As someone who got A Levels in the last 3 years, I fear I may be grouped in with those who could get an A* grade, when I reckon I'd get at least a couple of them with my results had they been available.

I can read music too, I don't have to do it in Manchester though!

Lumbtheembryo got BBC for his grades, which he's pretty happy with.
Now just a matter of waiting for the police to stop their hiring freeze.

Well done him! Surely a certain, large, TV and media company would be more suitable than the Police with those grades!

Ouchies The first thing you need to do when you get the chance is go and have a chat with your teachers and tutor (Maybe even your Head of Year) about what happened. In particular you need to talk about the ICT coursework, what happened with the Philosophy and what you should do next. I know they've got coffee-breath but they really will be able to help you.

i had to talk with the head of year before they gave me my results! ict was my own fault i suppose, philosophy i know i failed because of the exam, you get given 2 questions and have to write about 3 pages on them...im not too good at writing and never have been. i have 3 options, beg them to let me carry on with philosophy, retake philosophy and do the other half at the same time (AS and A2) or pick 2 other AS subjects to do (to gain the amount of points needed to go to uni)

I know I'm probably being dumb but what do you want to do at university? EDIT: Forget that question. Answer these better ones: - What do you want to do?
- What are you good at?
- What do you enjoy?
Only once you've thought about them should you think about training and where to do it.

I'd also consider speaking to your intended universities, and seeing what their admissions officers reckon would be best for you to do. With the ICT; did you know it was coming or do you not know cwk marks in advance any more (prior to moderation)?
