If only it were as good as the US release though... and cheaper.

That's been a potential purchase for me since I first saw it - what's the difference between the regions though?

The US release came with quite a bit more, according to a mixture of Amazon, Google and Wikipedia it came with 3 discs, One Terminator 2 blu-ray, Extreme Edition DVD and Ultimate Edition DVD. If you're wondering why the latter two were included it's because there are some special features that weren't included in the blu-ray (god knows why not).

The only downside to the US Edition is that it's only the "normal"/"original" release of Terminator 2 on blu-ray which supposedly didn't look *that* good and came with the same soundtrack from the DVDs. The newer Skynet Edition blu-rays supposedly offer a better/remastered picture with a HD soundtrack. However the UK edition only comes with the single Skynet Edition blu-ray however includes a "majority" of special features released.

TBH for the price it was going at (£70 or £80) i would have expected it to be the complete Terminator trilogy (or should we just say the first two films ) on blu-ray and not just the single film (as much as i love T2).

Thanks for the reply - that's an utter balls-up, isn't it? It's probably to do with rights in different countries regarding the special features I suppose, but there's little excuse for different quality versions of the film itself

Watched the final hour or so of the original on BBC1 last night - apart from some animatronics that were probably state of the art at the time (and for it's budget) , it's hard to fault the film at all. The stop-motion endoskeleton still works in it's own way, and on watching the film over again, it's actually amazing just how much interest Arnie gives you in a humourless cyborg killer
