Hi guys, I'm going to be doing some backend work on the site over the next few days/weeks etc.
Shouldn't be any downtime but I thought I'd give you notice before I get bombarded with x404 down messages on Twitter & Facebook.

The forums should stay up throughout all of it (it has during testing) but the main index page on x404.co.uk may say the site is unavailable and not redirect you to the forums.

Please make sure you've got the direct forums address written down/bookmarked/tattooed on your arms so you can get in a moan about any changes I make.
The address you need is

http://www.x404.co.uk/forum

Who on earth would do such a thing?

You mean you're not taking the Dennis approach to forum maintenance   :D
Are we likely to notice any significant changes to the site or will it be really cunning and subtle stuff that's invisible but makes everything faster?

Yah I've just realised that it's a big blue X favicon. (only just noticed that it just says phpbb at the top now as well.)

I cleared my cache and when you load the page it has the normal X404 banner, however once you enter "reply" mode it goes to the above and stays that way.

Using the latest Firefox here.

Looks like you're not using the default (proper) theme.

That's interesting.

Haven't been testing with the old standard ones.
