I've spent the evening brewing a wort which should produce a chocolate beer.

It's all rather an experiment...I've gone from a "Best Bitter" recipe and modified it using my limited knowledge to include more malt and some chocolate (a teaspoon of cocoa and about half a bar of 85% chocolate).

Having a taste of the brew before fermentation begins, it tastes promising. I've tossed in half a vanilla pod into the fermentation bin too.

I checked the gravity before adding the yeast, I got a specific gravity of just under 50, with an estimated volume of 8%

I'm now on the lookout for some pint-ish sized bottles with clip on caps (like the grolsh bottles), as I think my two pint bottles might be too much for one sitting!
