That’s a Final Cut video editing keyboard. It has mystic symbols on it which equate to video editing functions.

You smooth talker.

I'll do one of these tomorrow. IS it considered acceptable to clean all the rubbish off first or does it have to 'au natural'?

Bit of a mess:

We've got that clock in our kitchen. And we also have one of those monitors - 17in Mitsubishi.

I can't be bothered to clear my desk enough that folks can actually see it, but I have a photo on my Flickr stream with my camera gear after I'd tidied the desk a bit.

It's pretty much still the general arrangement, although there's more clutter now...

Correct on the make, but it's a 23 inch, not 17! Clock's great, but a pain to get to when you need to change it as you have to climb on the desks!

I can't actually see my desk. I know it's there, otherwise this pile of crap, my monitor and printer would just be hovering about 3ft in the air.
To give you some clue, I have a collection of screwdrivers, 2 bottles of aftershave, some headphones, lens cloths, 3 external HDs, a laser printer, 22" CRT, 8 empty beer bottles, 3 empty mugs, a Stanley knife, a stapler, some SDHC cards, a baseball cap, some Turbowolf stickers, a fedora, miscellaneous papers, stack of DVD blanks, camera battery, some photo negs, various wrappers and foil, a bottle opener, a tape measure, a tiny video camera that I'm still working out what I want to do with, some lens cleaning spray, a watch, miniDV tapes, a protein drink shaker, a Canon lens box, a 28mm-80mm lens, a bottle of Vicks First Defence nasal spray, some string, a step-up ring adaptor for a lens, another set of headphones, an empty glass, mouse and a keyboard.

I think that's it. Everything I might need is to hand.

Do you know where your towel is, though?

Tom, I specced the 23in Mistubishis for an old place I worked at. They were about half the price of the equivalent Apple monitors, which were the exact same tube but in a shiny case. Best [CRT] monitors I've ever used.

About 2 foot away from my outstretched hand. :)

Yeah, that's why I'm still using it. The other Macs are on cinema displays, but I really don't want to spend all that money replacing mine when I actually think mine has a better picture and colour. I'll be replacing it with an Eizo ColorEdge at some point, but that's a lot of money and I'm going to need to get a Mac Pro soon, so might get delayed further!

My desk at work has... you know the typical office HP setup? Two 15" screens, 'so average it hurts' keyboard, and a Pentium D box? That. Oh, and a truly rubbish Dell ball mouse.

It's been personalised with these though:

The two from the right here:

And this is loitering somewhere:

Plan brought forward!

Surprisingly tidy today, as it happens. No paperwork deadlines, obviously :).

Ditto  Mine's like the sort of thing that you'd see on How Clean Is Your Home?
