Has anybody else got any of the movies on DVD or BD? I've just bought Half Blood Prince on DVD, coz £5 was cheap and whilst I enjoy the films, I didn't think they were good enough for BD. However, the picture is BEYOND gash! Anyone watching DVDs upscaled on 32 or bigger and thinking the same thing? Anyone got the BDs and can vouch for the quality? At £25 for all 6, they're good value, but still £25 and I already own 4 (now 5) of the DVDs. |

NO but I might get the box set once the final films are out. |

Got all of them. In general they're okay, but not a patch on the books. IMO. Prisoner of Azkaban, best book, worst film. |

I've watched a couple because my Mum loves them. Unfortunately she has a relatively small TV so I can't say the quality was either good or bad. To be honest, I really hate DVD. I've just acquired a rather fantastic box set, and watching it I can't help thinking how very much better quality the fansubs are. I doubt I'll ever buy another one ever. |

I bought the first 2 on DVD, but they were so woeful, I gave up after that. I have seen Goblet and was very disappointed in that as well. The series had a lot going for it, it could have been a Lord of the Rings for children, but the films are such a disaster, compared with what they could have been. I think the changing of directors and re-imaging the grounds of Hogwarts for every film, leaving no points of reference didn't help. |

The lack of continuity is the biggest problem with the films. Major set changes, location changes, changes in character appearance etc. Plus some cgi was great and some was very poor (within the same film). |

Well Prisoner is among the best IMO, but I'm not encumbered by the books. The movies are derivative, poorly acted and frustrating in places - but overall, they're still enjoyable and I need a recap prior to Hallows. Nobody got the BDs? |
