dunno the proper word for it, social awareness space? where if people are too close to you then it gets "awkward" just curious as to see if theres any varying in sizes of bubble within this eccentric forum, sometimes my "bubble" can be huge and fit a whole room if somethings really bothered me or even when in normal situation sitting in a table in a cafe and person on otherside even that can be too close for my bubble but not always the case, hard to explain somewhat When I used public buses, bubble was quite big then as I didnt like the idea of randomers near me or sitting next to me, that is the worst, not sure if this thread is even worded properly

Depends who it is and where I am. Afraid to say Bratty, the more you speak the more "normal" you sound.

Again variable, but generally quite small. About a foot or so in most situations. Less on buses except for cases of dubious sanitation I'd say it also varies depending on if you're facing them directly or not. I've no trouble standing next to a stranger side by side.

as long as there not touching me i dont really mind, can be annoying if your in a crowded pub and the person next to you is shouting or moving alot, you know the type when they constantly keep bumping into you however, if its a girl and theres no space like at a concert, then i have no problem with them touching

pretty small for most people, so long as i can see them. im not too keen on people standing behind me though, unless they are my friends, they can stand as close as they like in any direction

I was once stood in the fish and chip shop and someone came in and stood so close behind me that his toes were touching my heals.

Depends on my mood, and who's around. Sometimes I can get very petty about other people, other times I'll be quite happy to be crammed on all sides by strangers. Like if you're in the front row of a Rocket From The Crypt gig, for instance. Which is awesome. But you can't be any more, cos they don't exist. Anyway. Depends.

Shouldn't somebody tell bratty that it's called personal space?

One of the big factors of being allowed in to my bubble is the simple question 'Are you Candice Swanepoel?'

If her nose enters my personal space before her boobs then she's not allowed in.

My bubble is bigger than the space I was packed into on the circle line at 10am today Generally, it depends on how smelly or scary the invading persons are. On the tube, they were both scary and smelly as well as right in my face.

I find many people get too close when I have a backpack, so I just swing around and clip them with it, gently of course.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.
