On another forum, someone mentioned their worst Xmas gift was a Dyson vacuum cleaner. I was quite offended since I bought one for my mother two years ago. She already had an upeight Dyson that was nearing 10 years and now found it difficult to carry and use. Clearly fed up by it. We bought her a Dyson cylinder and she loved it. I recall my best present was my Mecanno set when I was 7/8 years of age. My worst present came in a large box. I remember being puzzled since I had already got the things I wanted so didn't know what it was. Turned out to be a floppy disk/CDROM storage box. I remember being SO cheesed off (though I didn' show it). Must've been 11 at the time. We didn't get a computer till I was 14! What about your best/worst present received (or given!)? |

Whoever said that is an imbecile. Best prezzie? Probably the gaming chair my GF bought me last year because it was both a cool present and a surprise. Worst present? Can't think of one at the moment. I always like free things. ![]() |

Really? If I bought my wife a household appliance as a christmas present, she'd prolly cut my nads off as I slept. I'd certainly be on short rations forever. |

No, I thought this was about the best/worst we'd receive. I wouldn't buy the GF one but it's not a crap present per se, depends who you're buying for. I'd be happy to get one, I'd sell it of course, but I'd still be happy. It's FREE!!!! ![]() |

Oh god yeah. That was a great present but I think we had the standard 16k model. Then of course the BBC Model B some years later... Happy times. |

Best: Xbox 360 elite MW2 limited edition (plus MW2 game) last year from my wife ![]() Worst: A white angora jumper with "very nice" cabling on it. At the time I had black and purple hair (shaved at the sides) and looked like a refugee from an industrial goth night club ![]() |

I did put "given" in brackets to include best/worst presents you've given. |

Best I think my Beer Tower bought by SWMBO - use it all the time and its great Worst Hmm harder but I think a watch - I wanted a watch but like things reasonably plain - this had more dials and arms than than an octopus in a watch shop - couldn't lie and had to get them to change it |

Best: Single malt whisky. The only thing I can't have enough of. Worst? I forget because I don't really care. I guess "the bumps" is pretty bad. |

Depends who you're getting them with ![]() Best : A title - Someone bought me a deed that actually allows me to refer to myself as 'Laird' if I want to. Or a table football er... table... Worst : Any amount of cheap toiletries. Chocolate (yes, I'm diabetic, but some people still buy me chocolate for Christmas). Jon |

Best A ZX81 when I was a kid As an adult - sounds a bit silly, but a set of Helping Hands. Not terribly expensive, but incredibly useful - it also showed that she had put a fair bit of thought into what to buy me. Worst Ties. I've had some truly frikkin awful ties as presents. Crap Whiskey - If you don't want to shell out for a decent bottle, that is fine, just don't buy me any, I won't mind; socks will be just dandy. |

Don't do pressies really, and anything given to me I've always found a use for, so... ![]() |
