The good new is that my dad, who has been in hospital for the best part of the month, is coming home tomorrow. The surgeon has been really happy with his progress, and he’s coming on in leaps and bounds over the last few days.

I was going over to see him tomorrow anyway, so I’ll be there when he comes back! He still has a long way to go recovery wise, but he’s mobile, eating and in a much better frame of mind than he was before. So I’m rather looking forward to it.

Always great to hear someone's good news, here's hoping he makes a speedy recovery! Having had a parent in hospital this year, I can understand how worrying it is.

I know exactly the strain you must have been under so I am very pleased to hear this, for all of you.

Through bitter experience I also know the strain that you must have been under, so I am also delighted for you all, and wish your dad a full and speedy recovery. :D

Thanks all - I’ll be round at my parent’s tomorrow to see him come home. He’ll probably not be expecting it, but that’s not going to bother him. He’ll be glad to be back home amongst familiar surroundings. Over the next few weeks and months, he’ll be getting his strength back, and we’re looking forward to next year far more positively now.

Unfortunately, all too many of us know how you've been feeling. The pains of ageing suck :(

Good to hear things are coming together well, and I hope he enjoys his freedom :)
