Okay, bear with me here. Twenty-four hours ago, I'd consumed a packet of Walkers Roast Chicken crisps. I now still smell of the damn stuff. I've already scrubbed my face, had a shower, new clothes and yet I still smell them on my person. Are these the most potent-flavoured crisps or what? Any ideas on what else to do to get rid of the smell? Even my aftershave has worn off by now! |

My guess is a few particles of crisp still in your nose. Are you still up or up early ? |

No. Am on nightshifts. Getting only four hours' sleep in between shifts, which is the norm for me ever since I started working. ![]() |

Much respect, that must be absolutely knackering. |

Cheese and onion are bad too, normally it's the flavour powder working into your skin etc. Get a nail brush and soap on them and scrub scrub scrub...... |

You should be eating Chilli Sensations. They taste and smell awesome, so it's never a problem ![]() |

A friend was pitching for an engineering thingy at the Monster Munch factory once. He couldn't resist but sticking his hand in where they spray the flavouring onto the naked corn snacks while the guides back was turned - had to finish the tour with one bright red, spicy flavoured hand stuck in his pocket. |

Many years ago I worked in a warehouse where the flavouring powders were stored. I've not eaten flavoured crisps since. ![]() ![]() |

Hahaha it was worse when it used to be seven nights in a row. Couldn't think straight by the sixth night and the seventh would render you zombie-like.
I found some of the smell was emanating from my nose (ie there was flavouring just on the inside of my nostrils!). Strangely, there was some smell emanating from my right wrist. Despite the fact that I'd scrubbed with one of those plastic dishwashing scrubber things that come in different colours.
Lol. I don't think they're as potent but unforunately the vending machine doesn't stock them.

Please do elaborate. It may well curb my enthusiasm for flavoured crisps. |

I imagine it has something to do with either the colours, or the terrifying odour that managed to permeate out of the containers and into your mouth and skin. Someone in my lab did some work on an artificial sweetener several years ago and it was possible to tell that the container had been opened even if you were standing at the opposite end of the lab, you could taste the cloying sweetness. |

I'm really hoping that they had actual real life monsters* working there, but somehow I doubt that's the case... pity though, as it does paint a nice picture. ![]() * By monsters I mean the creatures on the packets, not the likes of Fred West, Adolf Hitler and Peter Sutcliffe... but I guess you probably knew that ![]() |

Remember it was many years ago. Flavourings were powder and stored in paper sacks on pallets. The floor was rough concrete with lots of dust. There were rodent droppings on the floor. Do you wish me to elaborate further? ![]() |

I do find it interesting how we need to associate flavours with colours, the blackcurrant flavoured sugar water needs to be purple etc. This is why I was a big fan of the Panda blue cola you could buy, shame how it tasted like [LIFTED]. |
