OK peeps - another late rush of entries so it's time to cast your vote now :D

The rules:

* Voting occurs for one week from midnight on the last day of each month until midnight on the seventh day of the month.

* Please vote for your favourite three images.

* You cannot vote for your own image*

Your 1st choice will be awarded 5 points.
Your 2nd choice will be awarded 3 points.
Your 3rd choice will be awarded 1 point.

If there is a draw on say for example 15 points, then the image with the least number of votes will win, such that an image with 3 votes for 5 points will defeat the image with 5 votes for 3 points. It won't be the '2nd best' for everyone, but it will be the 'best' for the few. If it's good enough for a Grand Prix then it is good enough for here.

Please try and keep this thread for votes only, it will make it easier for me to tally up later. If you must comment on images and decisions then please do so in the original thread (once it is unlocked).

This thread will run for 1 week only closing at midnight on Friday 7th January. At that time the winner will have the option of choosing the next theme, and the deadline for entries to that theme will be the end of the current month.

Most importantly, good luck to all entrants.

Al

Being nearly so late to enter, I'm making absolutely certain I'm getting my vote in early.

1. Neglected Pride
2. Didn't Keep
3. Agent of Decay

I hope the entries pick up a bit in the coming months. :(

1. Neglected Pride

Gorgeous picture and 100% on theme. Even the title is evocative. A winner by miles.

2. Remains of The Day

Not a picture I'd hang on my wall without a lot of post-processing, but it's the second best fit to the theme and it has the potential to be a gorgeously Gothic image with a few hours of 'shopping. Unfortunately the rules do not permit that. I'd be interested in a commentary by the photographer - obviously after the voting closes.

3. Didn't Keep

Mostly because it's a nice picture. I didn't rate it higher because to me, it's an image of something that's stood the test of time remarkably well. If we could see fallen beams and collapsed pillars then I'd have rated it higher.

I did like "Make Way For The Mushrooms", but they look too yummy and fresh to fit the theme for me

Obviously our opinions will vary, so bring on the voting :D

It was all a bit of a last minute rush wasn't it. A bit like many peoples Christmas shopping

Anyway, votes as follows:

1 - Remains of the Day
2 - Make Room for the Mushrooms
3 - Neglected Pride

1: Didn't Keep
Didn't Keep is atmospheric, I can almost feel a slight chill in the scene, once that hall would have been brightly and warmly draped.

2: Make Way For The Mushrooms
A well chosen exposure on Make Way For The Mushrooms to give good tonal range. I like the selected depth of field too.

3: Remains of The Day
Not sure about the interpretation of Decay in Remains of The Day, (my lack of imagination, not a criticism), but I like the composition and the colour.
