I called up Endsleigh a while back to change my address.

They forgot to cancel my old address policy and so I over paid. They said they would send out a refund (£45 ish) as a cheque. I asked if they could do it as a BACS transfer as I have an online account and it's not convenient to pay a cheque in. They said that was fine.

I have just received a cheque...

Just rang up to ask why this wasn't a BACS payment after I had specifically asked for one. She took my account number and confirmed it was me and then she apologised and said she would get the £160 refund re-processed as a BACS payment.

Erm... how much?

I decided not to say anything. I'll see what happens over the next few days.

Maybe that's the total amount, including your new policy?

No, nothing has gone into my new policy yet.

Oh well, I'll check my account in a few days and see what's going on.

They were pretty cr*p when I was a student, long ago. Always making mistakes and generally poor. But we were only students and couldn't get insurance elsewhere.

Glad to see some things stay the same.
