Since this is the first year that we will be able to select English & Welsh as nationalities on the 2011 census, I thought I'd hold a little poll to see what this might to do the numbers who identify as "British". So, completely anonymously (unless of course you choose to reveal your answer), please select what nationality box you intend to tick in the 2011 census. ![]() |

I identify my nationality as British, because that's what it is. |

Other... English by birth, but I think of myself as European nowadays. |

I'd still say I was British. It feels more united. Plus for the last five years I've spent most of my time in Wales, so much so that when I'm sleepy I apparently get quite a convincing Welsh accent ![]() |

+1 Despite nitnhaving lived anywhere other than in the UK, I don't feel the national tie that would make me call myself "English" or "British" - that would be a label others would apply to me. I think if myself as European more these days. |

Did you select "Pie" then or is a pasty not a sub-group of pie? |

European, but given my Scottish, welsh and English heritage, I'd probably have to put British, though I'd probably consider myself English. |
