How good/bad is your area?

For me in an area less than 2km radius.

Street-level crime and ASB in December 2010 Grouped by crime types. To protect privacy, individual addresses are not pinpointed on the map. Crimes are mapped to an anonymous point on or near the road where they occurred.

All crime and ASB 816

Burglary 94
Anti-social behaviour 273
Robbery 44
Vehicle crime 64
Violent crime 133
Other crime 208

My parents have 1 ASB.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

I live in Sherwood but the map puts me under the Carrington policing area. Although Sherwood is slightly lower it's not by that much.

Edit...

Zoomed in on the map and apparently there's no crime on my street. Funny that a van was broken into a few weeks ago then and an officer knocked on my door to ask if I'd seen anything.

661 in total for me. Considering that within my area there's the entirety of the centre of Exeter and the whole of the University campus, I don't think that's too bad actually.

Surprised by the violent crime, but I suspect it was the guy who got his head kicked in on the way back from the pub. Burglary too, you'd think it would be all over the village.

I tried to get on the site when it launched last week, but the interest was so high it just crashed all the time. Since then, I've heard numerous reports about how inaccurate and generally useless it is, so I haven't tried again.

My first reaction to that was  , but then I realised what you meant.

I’m off to launch whatsmypropertyworth.co.uk which uses this map to knock £1000 off the average house value per incident in the area.

I'm surprised that I'm the first to wonder how many of these crimes are the work of Robin Hood... :P
