The more I think about it, the more I think I liked the Wayne parts over the Batman parts.

MORE SPOILERS AND SOME QUESTIONS:

I've just discovered that nine months past between BB and TDK. That means Bruce was Batman for all of a year. One year of Batman and then he gives up because of the events in TDK. Seriously, WTF. I think there should have been 5-10 years between Bruce taking up the cowl and hanging it up. Hence there should have been a third movie. Or, because of the way events were portrayed in TDK, the latter should have been the third movie. A second movie could have introduced Catwoman to build up tension between her and Batman, along with the Riddler/Penguin.

Also it was clever that Bane had built his lair beneath the armory but how did he know when it was supposed to be top secret? Miranda/Talia was involved but I'm stuck trying to work out how long she'd been in Wayne Enterprises to infiltrate it successfully. The entire relationship with Bruce was very short, and not very passionate or built up.

What I also want to know is where is The Pit? It can't be too far or it would have taken ages to get back to the US.

He's only a man.
Even with high-tech weaponry and body armour/bat suit, there's only so much kicking a single person can take.
If all these events (from the three films) happened to him in the space of just one year, I'm pretty bloody sure I'd give up too.

If we said the first film took place (for sake of argument) in 2000, TDK happened around 2001. TDKR happened around 2009. My point is Bruce should have been Batman for more than the year between 2000 and 2001. Besides, Batman is more than just a man. He's a legend. :geek:

If you wanna get technical, he's a fictional character that doesn't exist outside the realm of fantasy.
Let's not lose track of reality, eh? (8+)

I did like the way Nolan tried to ground it a bit. The Joker's face was "war paint". There was no lazarus pits, no silly characters. Everything seemed genuine (except some of the toys!).

There's only two other people in our office who have seen it, and I'm effectively spoiler-cop for everybody else! This is driving me mad cos I wanna discuss it openly

Feel free to discuss it on here. I'm eagerly awaiting a 6-page treatise from you on TDKR.

More spoilers

Just been thinking about The Pit. If Talia was the one born in the pit and who escaped, why did Bane make a big song-and-dance about it being him? It makes him look more like a tool of the League rather than a villain in his own right.

Spoilers

In the comics Bane has been a member of the League, and to carry on the usual comparisons of Bats and his villains, he's in love with Talia. I'm sort of glad they took a similar route cos I found Bane a little flat, though I'm dying to see the film again for a second geekier opinion ;)

Yeah, but in the comics, Batman got Talia pregnant. So there's that.

Well, there was more than fan 'servicing' going on in the film...
