Are pies in tin cans normal? I’d not come across them until last week.

Can you still get Fray Bentos pies in cans?

The one we had was fairly good. You open the tin, and cook it in the oven. The pastry rises and when it’s ready, you eat it. This is a totally new thing to me. Other half says her family had them a lot.

I love the fact it's a week rather than a day.

Never been to Denby Dale but it looks like the place to be for pie lovers clicky.

Quote:
The famous Denby Dale Pies are a 220 year old village tradition; usually baked to celebrate national special occasions and events. These are not your normal run-of-the-mill pies – these are monster meat, and sometimes potato, pies that have been registered in the Guinness Book of Records in past years!
