Well, I tried them already about 8 years ago but at the time they weren't able to make tyhem with a strong enough prescription. (I have very strong astigmatism).

So I am trying them again and they seem perfect I can see the time on my watch, I can read my iPhone and drive etc... The only draw back is that I can't see the text on the screen of my computer.

Which, to be fair, is a very major drawback as I use it about 8-9 hours a day. OK, now the lens in my right eye has spun around and I can't see a thing!

Not sure if these are going to last.

Well, at least it is a free trial.

I couldnt do it. I've got some strange phobia or something because I cannot put anything near my eye. I cringe watching someone putting in contacts.

Snap - I tried twice to use contacts and just could not do it - my eye would automatically close everytime I put my finger near it with the contact.

As it happens my eye sight is improving with age so in a few years I might not be short-sighted at all :P

I've been having trouble reading with my lenses in place for a while now, so I've been wearing the glasses, until I get around to buying a pair of reading glasses, (+1 strength) which my optician says will get rid of the problem.

Well, they lasted about 3 hours.

I'm back in my glasses now and can see much better! Although my eyes are now aching but I don't know if that is from wearing the contacts or from having just taken them out?

Either way I can safely say that it's a no for wearing contacts at work.

If that's the case then I may not bother. They would be nice for wearing whilst running/cycling but I don't know if I want to spend the money each month on contacts but then still have to buy glasses every couple of years too.

Yep, that just about says it all for me too.

My wife wears them, and I usually find something else to distract me while she's putting them in.

Thankfully, I don't need glasses (yet), so I don't have to worry about the prospect of wearing contacts.

I don't need to wear glasses all the time, and only for things far away. If I'm doing up close work I often take them off. I'm guaranteed to leave them on at least one train everyday at the moment...
I tend to wear them for most of the day, and I really couldn't do contacts, I think I might just be able to drop them in, but getting them out would be my problem...

I wear contact lenses sometimes. I wear night and day lenses, which are designed for you to sleep in, but I don't sleep in them - I take them out and store them every night.

I find that my eyes don't particularly like wearing lenses - they get more and more gunky, tired, and irritable as I wear them. After a week or two they demand a couple of days off.

I want laser surgery but it's very expensive, so it'll be something I get when I've graduated and working full time.

I'd like laser surgery also but I can't have that either as my astigmatism is too strong to be corrected by it. I can have the surgery but I would still need glasses afterwards.

I'm squeamish about my own eyes. This is despite the fact that I've done things like evert an eyelid, irrigate an eye and stick drops in them - all on other people!

I'd love to have laser surgery but unless it's 100% safe (ie no problems and no loss or deterioration of vision), I'll never go ahead.
