![]() I've just been thinking about the Pixar films since a couple are getting pre/sequels (Cars, Monsters Inc.), and I realised that I loved them all except for Cars and The Incredibles. Oh, and A Bug's Life. Now, is it just me, or were those three a bit weak? I could see The Incredibles being controversial there ![]() My personal faves are Monsters Inc. and the Toy Story series ![]() |

There actually isn't a Pixar film I don't like, apart from every single Toy Story film, which are all garbage. </flamebait> ![]() |

Never seen cars or a bugs life. I lived all the rest though. I really liked the incredibles and there was a definite hint at a sequel on the end of it. |

My little one loves all the Pixar films. Cars was actually rather good, especially if you keep an eye out for all the small details. |

In my opinion, they've been on a bit of a weak run of late. OK that's relative - They still make arguably the best family films going right now - but I think they've been going through a bit of a creative trough. Each of their recent films (Wall-E, Toy Story 3, Up) have had really really good moments but mostly have been a bit.. boring. They overall haven't been of as consistent quality as their earlier stuff. Their short films recently have shown a lot more 'spark' than the feature films they've accompanied. 'Bounding' for example is both brilliant and hilarious. As for the upcoming stuff... Cars 2? Really?? Meh. Jon |

Up's a classic example of what I mean. The initial montage is superb; alternately funny and poignant and perfectly judged. The dog is a great comic creation. However the main characters are a bit dull and hard to empathise with and the baddy is frankly terrible. Jon |

I liked Cars. I felt they crossed a boundary with that. The person to ask is a friend of mine who derides the CGI films. He was very positive about Cars after he saw it. Anyone spot Car 84 at the beginning? |

I think Wall E is actually superb, beautiful, just astounding, with Finding Nemo, it definitely represents Pixar at their best. |

I thought Wall•E was actually quite a depressing story. Mark |

You would, it has to do with love, which is horrible and painful, as we all know. |

I liked Monsters Inc and the Incredibles. So sequels are fine as long as they are at the same high standard. Though as can be shown from Shrek they can get lazy and rely on the characters getting them through weak plots. |
