Nope as it is all "down south" so would take ages and cost a fortune to get there. Worried about terrorism also. |

Aye - it's too dodgy to go down there. The only reason I wanted to go was so that I could say "yeah I went" but TBH other than that, not interested and not worth the hassle. |

Yep. I applied for two events. An afternoon at the diving and an afternoon at the canoe slalom. |

That did not worry me at all. Though it would be crowded and expensive, so not worth it. I have friends and family who live within a few miles but it will be chaos to get from there for the events so not worth the trouble. |

There's free public transport included with the tickets from anywhere within London to the main venues. If we do get the tickets we can get the tube near the in-laws all the way across London for free. Awesome. |

I will be watching on television, where you get a much better view, for free. I might pop down to London to watch the "open" events and sample the Olympics atmosphere with my camera *shrug*. |

I'm betting it will be on TV, with a fantastic view and action-replays of all the good bits. |

We (SWMBO and myself) have Applied for the cheap seats for the opening and closing ceremony – well not much chance of getting them but... Then with some friends for the dressage – the friend used to compete at a high level and its quite interesting when you have your own personal commentator telling you what they are doing right / wrong Also the Archery and the rowing Thought of going for the “Uber Sport” known as Beach Volleyball but SWMBO did not seem that keen – I wonder why |
