I’ve got some copies of a 1940s magazine called Liliput kicking around. I’ve been scanning the adverts from one of them, and uploaded the lot to Flickr. Here are few examples. I love the way language has changed to make some of them seem slightly rude: ![]() Hollins Capacity Brushes by hairydalek, on Flickr Or this one of a priest enjoying three nuns kind of has a slightly different slant to it these days: ![]() Three Nuns by hairydalek, on Flickr Or the ones for “inner cleanliness”: ![]() Andrews Liver Salt by hairydalek, on Flickr The full set is here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/hairydalek ... 6742472938 |

Speaking of old adverts, I see the old 80's/early 90's Dulux advert is back on the TV again. Following on from Milky Way's red car and blue car advert that's made an appearance again recently. |

I noticed that again! Really funny how the song came to my lips before I heard each word. Wasn't milky way in a blue wrapper with a red shooting star back then? |
