This one's been really annoying me. No amount of spam filter adjustment gets rid of her. It's not even addressed to me, nor did I ever sign up for their mailing list.

Yup. My filtering is designed to catch phrases and words in the content once it arrives, so it get deleted without me even seeing it. Even specific phrases seem to be dodging that bullet. It's annoying.

Are the links different every time too? If not you could filter it based on that.

Have you tried clicking on the unsubscribe link? There's actually quite a high chance it will work.

How would it achieve that, unless you type it in? It's a web link. Unless it's going to attempt some clever zero-day exploit which probably won't work on a Mac anyway...

:edit: - the link in your post isn't valid. I'm guessing you edited it?

Yes, I did. The actual links go to a blank WordPress template page from what I can gather. :|

I just tried it, and guess what? It asks for my email address...

The one that I linked to on the previous page also went to a Wordpress site.

Since they already know a valid email, you just need to determine which one they're using and put that in. Sounds like they BCC'd everyone in so it won't appear on the "To" line, but most email clients will tell you where it went to.

Even if you choose not to unregister, it might be interesting to determine which address they're spamming.

Most spam like this comes from affiliate programs. In this case, for spinpalace dot co dot uk. Such programs are open to abuse, but you shouldn't necessarily assume that everyone is a criminal.

Yes most of my spam is from affiliated programs. I just delete it without opening it. Hopefully they give up. Every once in a while my mail gets bounced so that also stops further spam.

I know which account it comes in on, but that doesn't mean it's the same address. Besides, I never signed up for this spam, so why should I go through all the effort of trying to work out which address they want me to unsubscribe/invite more spamming with?

I'll keep on with the deep sighs when Anna's email arrives again. It's not like I'm fighting hordes of spam emails, is it. :)

I have the same problem. I use the mail filters sort out most of my mail so the majority of my junk mail ends up in the junk folder so I can delete it all without even reading it. So even after using the same email address for twenty years my junk mail is minimal.

It normally only takes 2 seconds, and you've probably spent over an hour complaining about it. In the long run those 2 seconds might save you time.

Plus, personally I'd be interested just to give me a clue where they got the address from. I use a different address for every service I've registered with.

Of course, it's your call.
