For some unknown reason I have seen loads of tweets and status updates about the fact that this July has 5 fridays in it and this is something that only happens every 823 years!
What a load of b*ll*cks!
July 2016 also has 5 Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in it.
In fact...
March 2013 August 2014 May 2015 July 2016 December 2017 March 2019 May 2020 October 2021 etc... etc...
All have 5 Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in them.
The worrying thing is that people seem to be placing some kind of significance on this fact. WTF is going on with the world? It really doesn't take long to check on a calendar.

Arbitrary calendar system throws up an unusual situation! It must mean something in the natural world!

I just means other months have fewer of those days in them. I’d rather we just had more double bank holidays.

+1 makes no difference to me but I can see it being useful for many people.

And every four years there's an extra day! WTF is going on there! Anybody would think the Universe doesn't respond to our timing system!

And every now and then we need to add a leap second http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leap_second
