I have to say I agree on many points. Bad news for some companies especially Adobe and Microsoft. |

He seems to have his head screwed on definitely, I agree that any social network company other than Facebook and Twitter is useless. I thought twitter would turn out to be a flop though so what do I know? Still seems just as tedious as it did back in 2006 to me though... |

Hey hang on now, they're worth billions! It's a .com valuation, mind you, what could possibly go wrong? |

I think the reason tablets have suddenly started to succeed is because the speed of mobile internet now allows for live streaming - bye bye TV, PC, DVD player for the average consumer. I saw some business men watching the champions league final on their iPads at the airport, it was then I realised their attraction. |

I agree with him on HTML 5. If it means an end to Flash and exploits that will be good for everyone. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk. |

But if you read what he said about Internet streaming it will mean tv ad rates falling. Though you could see the end of big ad based tv networks. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk. |

I don't watch TV at all if I can help it, I like Judge Judy though. |

I do not watch it much either. I find that TVcatchup.com and the various iPlayers cover most of my needs. I do not miss cable Tv at all now. I think that the diversity of channels has lowered standards and thankfully we still have the BBC. |

I don't agree with this. Nor Facebook or Twitter are perfect and the rise of Google+ seems to support that opinion. There isn't just "one" of anything. Why don't all drive same cars or carry same mobile phones. |

No, but we all drive by the same rules on the same roads. Not that it's a great analogy. Compare IM protocols; there has been a necessary convergence and culling because too much choice is worthless. There's little joy to be found in socialising by yourself. |

I watch a couple of hours a week and I don't use a catch-up service. Probably the only thing I really sit down to watch is Tatort on Sunday evenings... |

Fascinating read, thanks. Really makes you think about where things are at with the internet and everything else. Personally, I like have a PC and/or a laptop. But I fully admit that I'm a dinosaur in tech terms these days and it's the 13yr olds with iPhones who are leading the charge in what gets devd and what doesn't. |

Yes but that has always been the case. The computer market or phone markets are no different. While there are a few who create niche markets for older user like Saga the majority of marketing is aimed at the young, presumably because we oldies fearing old age will want to associate ourselves with it. MySpace was more youth orientated than Facebook yet who won that battle? |
