I spose I'm kinda using one with the usual FF options, but then a lot of that is plug-in functionality too... I stopped using Google Toolbar years ago once I moved to laptops of various shapes and sizes, and when FF was a much more viable alternative to IE

The only toolbar I bothered using was Google. The only reason I used it was so that I didn't have to go to the homepage or open a new window to Google something. In FF, I managed to get the top right search box (next to the address bar) to search Google/wikipedia/amazon etc which is all I need.

I stopped two years ago. It was hard work making sure that the toolbar worked with the browser. I have a few extensions now but that it.

That suits my needs perfectly. I see too many browsers where half of the window is toolbars. Ask, Bing, Google, AVG and the like.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

I think we all know someone like that. People who click next-next-next without ever reading the bit that says "I agree to sell my soul to the devil". The same people that usually have over 9000 pieces of malware including 10 different fake "security" products.

I have search built into all my browsers now, so there's just no need. My vertical pixels are too precious to waste.

+1, though I often forget to change the drop-down menu and try to Wiki something I meant to Google... Madam

I agree entirely. Whenever anyone asks me to "fix" their PC, the first thing I look at is how many toolbars they have on IE, as that is usually a good indicator as to how many viruses they are going to have.

Not as good a guide as them using IE in the first place  ;)

Just knowing they use ie should be a good guide, yet alone the toolbars.

EDIT - A bit late to the party.

Do you think that they are cumulative? Number of tool bars divided by IE version used.

Might be, I used the latest version of IE once not too long ago instead of having a whole rake of FF tabs opening as usual - in all seriousness I'd have been quicker letting the FF tabs load

Never used one, never will.

My Dad likes to moan about his 'slow computer' and upon inspection there's just about every toolbar known to man (or woman) on there.
