Hi everyone.

For a chance of winning an expensive ($$$) food mixer I need a suggestion for a store department name that encompasses everything kitchen and home electrical (cookware to vacuum cleaners). It has to be catchy and also stylish/posh.

Thanks for any suggestions.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Do you mean the name of the shop, or the name of the department?

Sorry I didn't clarify. The name will be for a department within a store.

Other languages considered if the phrase will be well known.

"Kitchen, Home and Electrical"?

"iKitchen"?

"cuisine machines"?

When you say "everything kitchen" does that include non-electrical items such as spatulas? Assuming not, then...

"Sparky's Gadgets and Gizmos" (possibly with extra apostrophe's for extra class)

"Domestical Electrical"

"Maid in Taiwan 4 U" (Oh wait, that was a porn...)

The main difficulty I think is coming up with something that is relevant for the kitchen with regards to cookware, and the home with fans, vacuums etc. My line of thinking so far has been to think of apparatus and various combinations relating to that.

Fisrt one is a little plain I think.

iKitchen could be too trendy/fadish for the store.

Third one has a ring to it, but doesn't encompass the household items. Also cuis-chines jumped into my mind when I first saw that.

Also, for further clarification the name has to be suitable for Harrods.

It wil include spatulas, bowls, mixers, pots, pans.

Apparatus > equipment > tool. A tool is a device that can be used to produce an item or achieve a task, but that is not consumed in the process. That almost seems to fit, but I can become quite blinkered when thinking along these lines.

Current names for the two departments being merged are Home Electrical and Cookshop.

Home electrical doesn't include audio visual by the way, that is a separate department.

Next thought of mine is Homeworks.

Keep them coming, no matter how off the cuff/offensive, it could be a winner. :)

Your opening phrase "kitchen and home electrical" seemed ambiguous to me, but that's clear now.

Seems a very odd convergence. "Home Electrical" clearly excludes non-electrical items, where as cookware is more specific than kitchenware. I have a non-electrical dustpan which I keep in my kitchen - could I buy one in this department? If not, then in which department? It's not electrical and you can't cook with it!

How about "Tools for Wives" ?

Actually that's a bit "Debenhams" rather than "Harrods" - the ladies that shop at Harrods would probably prefer "Tools for Maids".
