Seing as though we the threads for Rachel Riley, annoying celebs, I thought I’d kick one off for those cute ladies who are learned. In my mind, they all attended The Carenza Lewis School for Bookish Babes - a kind of finishing school for those with more qualifications that you have.

I present:

Dr Alice Roberts

Lucy Worsley

You will no doubt wish to add to the list.

That's not too difficult - so thankfully my selection pool still factors a great number of women far hotter than those posted so far. 8-)

I didn't really understand where the term 'stiff upper lip' referring to British aristorcracy came from until I saw Lucy Worsely. She's patently very posh and has the kind of accent you only hear from people who are not only posh themselves but have come from a family line that has been posh for quite some time.
If you watch her, when she talks her top lip doesn't move at all. It's not some medical thing because she can smile and what have you, it's obviously just an inflection thing. She talks entirely with her bottom lip. So there you go, 'stiff upper lip'.

It's almost like QI in here isn't it?

I know someone who has very similar facial movements to her. She’s not really that posh herself, but she’s teaching posh kids in a private school. She’d certainly not have that strange girly reaction to a steam engine that Lucy did.

If only she didn't talk. She is easy on the eye but for me bloody painful on the ear. I actively turn over any programme she is on even if I'm interested in the subject matter.

Well, if we must...

Bettany Hughes (research fellow, King's College London)

Kathy Sykes (Professor of Sciences and Society, Bristol). Hand up who remembers 'Rough Science'.

Hermione Cockburn (PHd Geomorphology, Edinburgh)

I met Hermione at an auction of meteorite fragments in Edinburgh a couple of years ago. She seemed very nice. And actually much prettier in person than any photo I could find of her on the internet.

Dear lord, I wonder how long ago they were taken  . Is that last one meant to be Lara Croft? Having said that, I think she looks better with long hair than how she has it now.

The first two are from "bid up" - I thought I recognised the smarmy guy with his hand on her bum.

She seems to like to cosplay - here's another one of her apparently:

Monday is currently a very good night.

7PM - Coast (Alice Roberts)
7.30 Bang Goes the Theory (Liz Bonin)
8PM - have a cup of tea
8.30 Only Connect (Vicky Coren)

If you're feeling particularly intellectual you can even watch University Challenge at 8PM.
