Silly situation but there's a forum I used to be a member of. It then changed to using only "non-free" email addresses ie not hotmail/yahoo etc, and banned everyone. To reactivate your account, you have to supply a non-free address. They check each email address AFAIK, so going with an obscure free one isn't an option.

Any way I can get round this but still remain anonymous? Giving my ISP's email address has the surname in the bit after the @ (eg joe@bloggs.ISP.com).

Yeah at the moment, I've just given up. Was wondering if there was a way around it all.

Use an old uni address that transfers to a gmail account?

Old uni address would have been great but it expired about a year after I left uni.

I'm sure one of us could give you an account on a hosting package somewhere?
I can right now, but PM me and I'll try and set something up for you tomorrow :)

The easiest solution would be to buy a domain for a couple of quid and use that.

Along the lines of what ben's saying, I have a reseller account so I could give you an email address. PM me if you're interested Can't do anything before Monday pm, so if you're sorted by then no bother.

Why did they do that? Here in Germany, a lot of people only have "free" e-mail accounts.

The entire family here only have Yahoo! accounts, for example, they do not have access to any other e-mail account.

I really don't know why. I guess they must've had a lot of problems with scammers and spammers.

Thanks for the offer tombolt, I may welltake you up on it!

All my accounts have been free down the years (like many I suspect). They're a bit crap at times, but that's only because their owners can't leave the fcuking thing alone...

You can have an @yourwired.net forwarding account if you PM me what you want and where to point it. That's my domain with my name all over it, so only if this forum isn't something really dodgy

Not a dodgy forum at all, which is why I was surprised.

Forquare's offered me one email address, which I'll test out. If it gets rejected, then I'll try the other offers.

Just to update: It seems to have worked so far. I've asked one of the mods to see if they'll re-enable my old account or not.

Thanks fo the help guys.
