http://www.theregister.co.uk/2011/11/02 ... ial_gamer/ I've seen some champion-grade Apple-wanking in my time but this beats the band. That's got be the most fatuous, oafish, bovine obsequiousness I've seen in a long time. |

Perhaps it's just a matter of perspective. Deride them if you will, but more people play "Angry Birds" and "Farmville" than any "gaming" people on here talk about. Many similar little games are actually making lots of money. They wouldn't exist without the likes of Jobs and Zuckerberg. |

I have several games on my phone inspired by his work. One of them even has the original music, which surprised me a little. |

You do know that Steve Jobs worked on Breakout for the Atari? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Jobs#Early_career But, yes. A very odd list. I think the iOS devices may be educating the games market to an extent, but it’s not got the historical kudos yet. |

In general, that list is more about the delivery systems for games and mass popularity it seems, and very recent stuff at that ![]() |

Well Woz did all the work and got stiffed on the money. Edit: My nomination would be Steve "Slug" Russell, creator of one of the earliest videogames, Spacewar, back in the early 60's. |
