Post subject:  A little bit of music help please?
I know some of you are fiends for classical music.
Maybe you can help my niece.
She's choreographing a dance piece for a contest to this piece of music but has been told that it needs to be classical.
So she's worked on the beat and rhythm of that piece, and needs to find a classical piece that's as close as possible.
I don't listen to classical, so I literally no clue where to start.
Oh, and of course being a teenager who relentlessly leaves things to last minute, she needs it for wednesday. :lol:

So any hints, tips or clues would be hugely appreciated. You'll be helping wipe the smiles off the class bitches too. :)

Well, it may take a bit of digging.

Having a quick look that track is 92BPM I think, the only thing I've found on a quick 92BPM search is Vivaldi clicky but that won't be the sort of thing that could replace the track she's after I very much doubt. :? :D

BPM is always a good starting point then just some grafting into finding something relevant. May be quite tricky as that's quite a ploddy track.

bpm isn't too relevant when you consider that classical music doesn't have a beat :p

They do, they just have more than one bpm in a piece and depending on the conductor it can change again.

The only piece of classical I can think of at the moment that has anything like the same beat or underlying rhythm is Strauss's Radetzky March but it is much more varied in terms of structure than 'Never Stop.' Will have a bit more of a think.

It's a bit of a bugger to match tbh without knowing which part of the rhythm she's using.

I suppose there's always the Widor - you know nobody else would use it.

Nope. They also play many adaptations of classical pieces.

Indeed.

However, it's no good my correcting a statement by using a weak question - the weakness being that, although armies do march to classical pieces, they don't have to.
