Hey all.

Any good places to buy a tree this year that doesn't require remortgaging?

Not really looked yet but my GF just checked in Homebase and it was about £35 for a twig apparently. I know this years batch will be more pricey because of the season Norway has had but if anyone knows of somewhere that does ok ones for about £30 or under I'd appreciate it.

Actually Fin, are you getting a real one from up here?

Cheers

Dan

The price of Christmas trees will be higher, because about 10 years ago a lot of people thought they'd get a synthetic one.
So fewer were planted, which means there's less to meet the demand, which means higher prices.

Actually just found an article, clicky, that suggests that we're just generally ripped off each year with a different probably made up reason.

And 95% of our tress come from Scotland, didn't know that.

Last year I couldn't get to my mate's because of the snow so I went to my local country store. They weren't cheap, but better than the usual places. Worth seeing if you've got something similar close.

Got ours delivered on Saturday :)

Main places I know of are Chopwell wood which everyone says is decent, we ended up getting ours from a place selling them off the Testos roundabout, £30 + £5 for delivery locally

it's a bit over 6ft but a little wonky (the main trunk isn't straight and the gf chose it) but it's a no drop one

The google maps location (There are a load round the area, two on the other side of the road and one on the other side of the testos roundabout opposite the Travelling man pub next to the BMW garage)
http://maps.google.com/?ll=54.943856,-1 ... 29.43,,0,0

Ahh too late, oh well

Thanks mate.

The GF phoned in a rant about prices and twigs then turned up with fish&chips and a tree, £35 from B&Q it turns out. about 6ft and wonky seems to be this Yule Tide's theme it seems. :D

Aye, the wonky bit is the only thing common in this house. :)
