Now I'm single and rather shy however been chatting to a lady at work and she has revealed she is now also single.

She is good looking and quite clever :)

Now I'm tempted to buy her some flowers but worried in-case she doesn't want to know.

Take the risk?

Nothing ventured, etc.

I say go for it. There's nothing to lose, is there?

I can appreciate the nerves (Believe me..) but the facts are this..

1) If you don't ask, you don't get anywhere.
2) You might be right, in which case, well done!
3) If you ask and you're nice about it, even if she says no she'll be nice about it too. You tried, it turned out not to be happening, that's all. The long term effects will be... nil.

Most women I've met would consider it a compliment even if they weren't interested, so you really don't have anything to lose.

Well the deed is done - flowers ordered to arrive at work tomorrow.

Fingers crossed to see what happens.

Nearly all women would be happy to receive a complement and a little flattery. So long as you stay well away from the "stalker zone" then you have nothing to lose but your pride. And frankly, if you never try then your pride is going to slowly shrivel up anyway!

Think of it a bit like a job interview. It's always worth going through the experience even if you think the odds of it working out are poor. You just need to get your act together and give it your best shot.

As to whether flowers are the right approach, that depends entirely on the lady in question and you know her better than us!

Good Luck :D

btw - I've not had a date for exactly a year now so probably not the best person to listen to :(

I would say, make it low key, so that you don't embarass her - if she is in a big open office with lots of other people, try and time it for when there aren't so many about. But if you are having them delivered, I guess you can't time it.

As the others have said, nothing ventured, nothing gained. Good luck.

Picked tomorrow as there will hardly be anyone in.

She has her own office she shares with 2 others but both of them are away tomorrow.

Best of luck with it, at least it's quiet and a nice (and low risk in case it doesn't go as planned) gesture you can follow up on by asking her out if it goes well :)
