I’m getting this error when posting in the News section. There are no exciting Unicode characters being used - but this is the error I am getting consistently with the text I am trying to post.

Looks like you're using foreign characters.
Email me what you were trying to post.

If you're copy / pasting then paste into a plain text editor first. Any funny characters should stick out like a sore thumb.
It happens with Youtube comments for example, where they sometimes use a hard CR which comes across as an extended character. Obviously it also happens a lot with funny foreign fings.

As above, I found it wouldn't work when I was copy and pasting text from somewhere else. Turned out a character which was hidden was present and messed things up. Worse case scenario, paste in what you want, retype it and then delete the original.

I’ve been copying and pasting from the BBC News site - just as I have always done.
Ahh - there is an odd invisible character at the end of the subject - my text editor shows it as an upside down ? I’ll try again. If that fails, I’ll send you the text file.
EDIT: It worked when I removed the odd invisible character from the subject of the post.

Sas, do we know why this happens? Surely phpbb should be able to handle stuff like this?
