My Dad needs to do "access statements" from an accesibility standpoint on holiday lets. He has limited computer skills (good with office and general xp/7, but nothing much beyond). He needs to be able to draw floorplans in 2D for the access statements depicting placement of chairs/beds etc. in each room. I think Sketchup may be too complex. Any ideas?

Thanks guys.

Windows or Mac?

Not sure what's available on Windows, but OmniGraffle is pretty good on Macs, based around objects (called Stencils) that are included or downloaded from the Omni community site. Pretty much drag and drop, even my dad can use it and he's a complete luddite!

EDIT: Just noticed the XP/7 bit, assume it's for Windows then? Ignore the above!

I'd suggest going with microsoft visio. It has a 60 day fully functional trial so would be more than suitable for a one off project. As visio viewer is free you'll still be able to use the output in the future. As he's already used to office he should be able to pick it up pretty quickly.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

I think one of the diy/furniture places had a similar tool on their website, for free.
